Dhom Dam Wai

Construction of the dam was taken up in 1976 and was completed by 1982. The dam is constructed on the banks of Krishna river and the Dhome lake which is approximately 20 kms in length. Dam servers as a main source of water supply for Wai, Pachgani, Mahabaleshwar and other small villages which are situated surrounding the dam. Dam also serves industries of Wai, Koregaon, Satara and Javli talukas. After India’s independence this dam can be considered as one of the biggest civil engineering project carried out by the government of India. Height of the dam is 50m (160 ft) and length is 2,478m (8,130 ft) approximately Gross storage capacity of the Dhom Dam is around 382,270.00 km3 (91,711.45 cu mi).

Dhom Dam is famous as a picnic spot as many people come here to enjoy the scenic beauty offered by the dam. The natural environment that the dam provides makes it popular filming location for movies, movies, television and advertisements.
